it's well worth taking the hit of the extra horns to get that 5th expansion with mead.Ĭ) run as many of just 1 good as possible!! Going only 2 mead may keep the horn slightly cheaper, but you really, really, really feth yourself over without that critical 9th expansion to your box. This means that by the time you unlock Huts, you have a very nice 3x3 expansion square to build in. (ie: away from as many incidents as possible!)ī) buy your expansions as: 2x axe + 3x mead + 2x horns + 3x wool.

The best way to play through the Vikings I've found is Ī) immediately plan out which general direction your 'build square' is going to grow in. I get that the designer might want to make getting gold a challenge, but in my view if you put in the personal commitment described above, give me the d*** fragmentsĬlick to expand.Only the last 2 runs get incredibly hairy and basically come down to outright needing a healthy number of x4 goods collections. THAT is demoralizing and frustrating - like "quite the game" frustrating. It takes 60 pieces of a rune stone to upgrade it - I don't want to spend 8 days getting 2, 3 or 6 pieces. In my view 90% of my time has been wasted after 8 days of intense effort. For the last 2 rounds, I have been successful, perhaps 10% of the time - despite putting in the effort described above. My complaint is that the time limits get unrealistically short. Occasionally, I spend 50 diamonds to instantly construct something so I can start production before bedĮach time you start the quest, the chance of getting quadruple production increases and the time limit decreases. Buy the first 2 expansions for each good as clearly the quest was designed and have (at least) 1 goods production for each good unlocked. I typically am producing coins hourly 16 hours a day and carefully keeping my productions going. Its a real grind if you wanted to meet the gold prize time request.
